WRCT 88.3 FM is having technical difficulties resulting in sporadic or low power. This impacted portions of our 11/18/06 program. Station engineers are working on the issue; meanwhile, you may find that you can hear us via 1550 AM (Pittsburgh area), 91.1 FM (North of Pittsburgh) or www.slbradio.org. While beyond our control, we apologize for this inconvenience. November 13, 2006 D.C. Fitzgerald, longtime SLB performer and friend, passed away on 11/13 following complications from a previous liver transplant. Fitz was one of Pittsburgh's most influential and gifted finger-pickers, songwriters, teachers and singers. A talented solo performer, he also played in a band called Common Threads (1980s, early 1990s as well as in a revival last year), alongside Anne Feeney for 8 years, duo with Casey Deeley (Uptown) and most recently and frequently in the blues duo Fitzgerald and Beach (with Bob Beach). He also was a 1990 Kerrville songwriting finalist. His talent is well-known nationally and beyond. Whenever Tom Paxton performed in Pittsburgh, he always wanted to be sure D.C. was at his side. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Kathlee and sons Jesse, Nathan and Damon, as well as the many people who will forever hold him in their memories and hearts. We're working on a tribute to D.C. culled from SLB performances over the years with plans for its broadcast this Saturday. November 03, 2006 As you may already know, SLB had the pleasure of attending Songs for the Asking: A Simon and Garfunkel Tribute at Modern Formations on Oct 19th. Not only that, we took some of our new gear down and recorded it. Every Saturday at 10:00 we'll be playing a track or two from the evening so be sure to tune in. The first performance aired will be by Casey Hanner & Josh Verbanets, the tune, we'll leave a surprise for Saturday!
