Teens interested in exploring podcasting, writing, music, journalism, and live radio are welcome to join us for our drop-in afterschool (+ Saturday) programs.

About our programs: Upcoming programs include Tune Into Your Audience (6/2, 4:30 pm), Poetry Cafe: Colors (6/6, 12 pm), Year(book) in Review (6/9, 4:30 pm), Finding Your Voice: Auditions (6/13, 12 pm), Crafting a Performance (6/16, 4:30 pm), Mirror, Mirror: A Reflective Workshop (6/20, 12 pm), as well weekly youth reporter meetups (Mondays, 4 pm), Dungeons & Dragons (Wednesdays, 4 pm), and Soapbox (Thursdays, 4 pm), a program where youth can perform, collaborate, or simply listen as the Youth Media Center becomes a home for songs, poems, stories, and on-the-spot improv. New teens are always welcome and there’s no long-term commitment! Activities are free. The SLB Youth Media Center is co-located in the Children’s Museum on Pittsburgh’s Northside. SLB Youth Programs end 6/20/26: Thank you for a wonderful year of programs at the SLB Radio Youth Media Center. We’ll return for a new year of programs, workshops, and youth-focused events on August 31st, 2026. Teens interested in staying in touch with SLB are encouraged to join us for summer camps.
