Pittsburgh Brashear After School: Listening Back
After not having Brashear students for a few weeks due to the bitter cold temperatures, Radio Club members were finally able to listen to their finished alumni interview project. We also discussed some of the advice and takeaways students had following the interview, then mapped out some things students would like to do with audio moving forward. There should be some exciting work to share this spring!

Brashear’s interview project is complete! After School students interviewed alumni Adam Sullivan – who hadn’t set foot in the school since he graduated in 2005. Sullivan offered perspective, advice, and shared anecdotes about his high school experience.
Pittsburgh Brashear After School: Audio Editing
After last week’s interview with a Brashear alum, students were introduced to wave editing software. Each Radio Club member got a chance to learn the basics of the program Adobe Audition and work on their recorded audio from the previous session.
Pittsburgh Brashear After School: Dinner with Anyone
We asked our first two blocks of Brashear students if they could have dinner with anyone ever – dead or alive – who they would choose. There were some interesting responses, ranging from family members to Michael Jackson to Penguins goaltender Marc Andre Fleury.
Pittsburgh Brashear After School: Interview Prep
After Schoolers will be interviewing a Brashear alum next week, so students brushed up on their examination skills. Radio Club members learned about open-ended questions, following up, and listened to similar audio pieces. After the interview students will have to opportunity to edit their own recordings.
