Occurring annually, Believe Brashear is an event the showcases the magnet programs, sports teams, and clubs Brashear has to offer prospective eighth grade students, as they make the important decision of selecting a high school.
Brashear High School students celebrated International Women’s Day (and Women’s History Month!) by talking about special women in their lives.
Brashear High School in Pittsburgh serves about 1,300 students, 22% of whom are immigrants or former refugees who are learning to speak English. For a different perspective on U.S. immigration policies and realities, Youth Express spoke with ten students from Syria, Iraq and Yemen — with a translator, when needed — to provide perspective and insight into what it’s like to be an Arabic-speaking teen in high school.
For some After Schoolers, the high school experience is almost over. Students looked ahead to what they plan to do after they bid farewell to Brashear.
