As part of a 12-week Creative Arts program in the Spring of 2013, Kindergartners worked with SLB and Staycee Pearl Dance Project to discover their voices, their bodies, and their on-stage selves. They recorded radio pieces about their favorite animals (below) and chose yoga poses and locomotive movements to become the animals. During the process, they learned the fundamentals of audio production and engineering, how to use a microphone, and how to express themselves clearly with words. They also learned about personal space and being part of a group by doing yoga poses, dancing, playing games and singing songs. Their final presentation included their recording of a story that they helped create, which they then acted out with their dance moves and yoga poses.
