This week, Radio Club members discussed something that’s usually pretty unpopular – school lunches. In a round table setting, students gave some insight and opinions on the midday meal.
We opened the floor to students at Brashear High School and they came up with two great topics for this week’s round table discussion; the pros and cons of social media and 2 hour delays. The perspective they shared may not be what you would expect, especially the consensus disapproval of a delayed start to the school day.
You may have noticed in other Brashear recordings that many of our After School students are international.
This week we continued our round table discussions while embracing that international perspective. Radio club members in Block 1 talked about their first impressions of America as compared to their countries of origin, while Block 3 conversed about the benefits and challenges of becoming/being bilingual.
In our first Radio Club meeting, students and SLB staff got to know more about each other and some of the equipment we’ll be using to create audio pieces together through the year. After School students shared a little bit about themselves by writing and recording “Three Things About Me.”
