Special Guest: Charlie Batch reads “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”

New at Neighborhoodvoices: A very special guest called in to the show to read us his favorite Dr. Seuss book on the air… Charlie Batch from the Best of the Batch Foundation and the Pittsburgh Steelers! Charlie gave us a call and spent some time talking to us about his foundation and his love for Dr. Seuss, and topped it off by reading “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” live on SLB.

Propel Homestead – 1st Grade – Original Stories and Adaptations

As part of a 6-week Creative Arts program which focused on storytelling, audio technology and the power of the human voice, Propel Homestead first graders created these 40 original stories and adaptations. Each student also created an illustrated book to share their story in written form with family and friends.

Propel Homestead – 3rd Grade – It’s Cool to Care!

Propel Homestead third graders identified social issues that concerned them. They then researched, wrote and recorded these public service announcements to promote organizations working to address these issues. This project was designed to expose students to people making a difference, career opportunities focused on helping people, and the power of clear writing and speaking as a means of conveying information to others.
