Propel Homestead – 1st Grade – Original Stories and Adaptations
As part of a 6-week Creative Arts program which focused on storytelling, audio technology and the power of the human voice, Propel Homestead first graders created these 40 original stories and adaptations. Each student also created an illustrated book to share their story in written form with family and friends.
Propel Homestead – 3rd Grade – It’s Cool to Care!
Propel Homestead third graders identified social issues that concerned them. They then researched, wrote and recorded these public service announcements to promote organizations working to address these issues. This project was designed to expose students to people making a difference, career opportunities focused on helping people, and the power of clear writing and speaking as a means of conveying information to others.
Propel McKeesport – 4th Grade – It’s Cool to Care!
As part of a 6-week Creative Arts program focused on radio broadcasting, Propel McKeesport fourth graders identified social issues that concern them. They then researched, wrote and recorded these public service announcements tp promote organizations working to address these issues.
Propel McKeesport – 2nd Grade – Original Stories and Adaptations
These 38 original stories and adaptations were created by Propel McKeesport second graders as part of a 6-week Creative Arts program which focused on storytelling, audio technology and the power of the human voice. These recordings, which are accompanied by handmade illustrated books, are scheduled for distribution via The Saturday Light Brigade radio program, archived.slbradio.org and neighborhoodvoices.org.
Youth Expression Showcase: Fairchild Challenge Winners

The Fairchild Challenge fosters interest in the environment by encouraging teenagers to investigate, devise imaginative and effective responses, and to take action at many levels on environmental issues through a menu of Challenges.
