Seeking Youth Talk Show Hosts for MLK Day

Streaming Justice Flyer

Students in Grades 6 to 12 are invited to host a live radio talk show as we present Streaming Justice, our annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day live broadcast that focuses on civil rights — past, present and future.

Streaming Justice will air LIVE on Monday January 19, 2025 (MLK Day) from 3 to 6 pm from the SLB Radio Youth Media Center and feature 100% teen hosts and teen-selected topics, music, conversation, listener phone calls and more, all streaming live at youthexpress.org or via the TuneIn or the Simple Radio app.

Interested in participating? Here are the details:

  • We’re looking for teens to co-host 1-hour segments of the Streaming Justice live broadcast.
  • A two-hour commitment is required (60 minutes of prep followed by a 60-minute time slot) in-person at the SLB Radio Youth Media Center co-located in the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh at 10 Children’s Way.
  • No prior experience is needed! SLB staff will be on hand to help support you, and you won’t be alone: each segment will include 4 – 5 teen co-hosts. Your time slot will consist of your conversation, music and segment transitions — the hour will fly by!

Sign up through this form! Please fill out all required information and all time slots for which you’re available. Please complete this form by Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Your time slot and more details will be confirmed no later than Wednesday, January 14, 2026. If you have any questions, email Tai Chirovsky at tai@slbradio.org.
