Pittsburgh Spring Hill K-5 Radio Club: My Radio Station
Students in Radio Club at Pittsburgh Spring Hill K-5 wrote and recorded these pieces about their radio stations. First we had a discussion about what we listen to on the radio and what we would like to hear more of. Then, we each wrote about what our station would sound like and even recorded our tagline! Listen below to hear what everyone created.
The ZONE: Audio Editing
Students at The ZONE’s Radio Club got a chance to edit some of their own audio. After virtually obliterating some annoying mouth noise and demolishing numerous mispronunciations they discovered the “Pitch Bending” function. Needless to say, they loved making people sound like Sloth from “The Goonies.”
Clairton CASTLE: Hopes for Spring
With the weather finally turning (sort of) and Spring seemingly right around the corner (right? RIGHT?), Radio Clubers allowed themselves to dream of short sleeve shirts, flip flops and sunglasses. After recording about what they planned to do when the fabled sun returned, they then had to make the difficult decision between being able to speak to animals or being able to speak every other language.
Project Destiny Radio Club: Radio Kits
Today in Radio Club we built radios from a kit. Everyone worked in teams and helped each other to follow the instructions and put together a working radio! Then we had to listen to see if we could identify the stations we were hearing as well as how to improve the reception by walking around the room and changing the location of the antenna. Everyone shared at least one thing that they learned during the process.
Pittsburgh Spring Hill K-5 Radio Club: A Time I Achieved
Students in Radio Club at Pittsburgh Spring Hill K-5 wrote and recorded these pieces where they describe a time they achieved something and were proud. It was really fun to hear all of the different stories!
