For their Graduation Legacy Project, the ECS Class of 2015, our second class of eighth graders, wrote and recorded these audio reflections so that each could leave a small part of themselves here.

In 1977 NASA launched Voyagers 1 and 2 which carried copies of the Golden Record, a phonograph recording which captures sounds of Earth — for example, whale and bird songs, greetings in 55 human languages, music of various cultures, and sounds of nature like surf, wind, and thunder. It is meant to serve as an introduction to our planet to anyone who may find it.

Inspired by this audio treasure, the ECS Class of 2015 thought deeply about what sounds they feel express themselves and their time in this place. These are the recordings of their lives and culture that they have chosen to leave behind and share with you.
